Physical Education Girls 8 & 9

We have just completed a basketball unit culminating in a tournament complete with a play off  format.

We will be doing some Zumba and PX90 training as our next unit. We will continue aerobic conditioning once or twice a week outside.

Physical well being is crucial for one's health and we strive to keep the students active as well as teach new skills. Like anything in life you get out of it what you put into it. We ask that the parents encourage their children to fully participate in Physical Education classes for their own long term benefits. One would expect that athletes on school teams would help set an example for the other students.

Economics 12

Currently we are watching the History Channels' "Men Who Built America" and applying it to our study of Economics. This has provided us some excellent lessons on the concept of supply and demand and studying peoples' needs and wants.

This class is designed to help prepare students for the rigors of college. Students have to take a lot of notes and it is conducted at a college classroom pace.

The students have been shown how to access Turnitin.com and this website will be used for future assignments.

CURRENT EVENTS

This is a "hybrid" class. On Monday's we have a Bible lesson. On Thursday's we have a reading day. Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays we are learning about leadership skills and we are currently using Dr. John Kline's "Thirty Shoulds of Leaders" as our basis.

Firday February 1 there will be a test based on the first ten "Shoulds".

HISTORY 10: UNION STRATEGISTS PRESENTATIONS

We are currently having students present and teach their powerpoint presentations to their classmates. As public speaking is criticial to an individual's success will continue to have the students up before the class presenting their work.
