Recently we have had Mr. John Ramage speak to the class on two occasions.
His first day with the class he spoke about local government which coincides with our current unit.
His second day with the class he spoke about finances, which was very beneficial as the students prepare for their life at college.
We will have Mr. David Helms come and speak to the class soon about his involvement with the "old stone building" in downtown Troy.
Our next unit will be on various governmental systems such as socialism, communism, Marxism etc.
We will be studying the move Thirteen Days as it is about the cold war and will fit in nicely with that unit.

Government 12 Semester 2
This class will be formulated to prepare students for college. It will function at the same pace and same format as a college class. Students should look at this as a training ground for their freshman year. Students need to take responsibility and read ahead so that they are familiar with the material that will be discussed in class lectures. Students will need to make notes on their readings which they will be able to use in future tests and assignments.
1) We have begun the semester looking at the historical foundations of our government.
2) We are next going to look at the Constitution and Declaration of Independence and how those two documents were developed and how they are related.
